Meet Steve
Hi, I’m Steve, the founder of Lead in Careers. I created this platform after witnessing firsthand how many students disengage from the schooling system due to a lack of support and guidance. It became clear to me that while the education system often doesn’t cater to everyone, especially those who don’t fit into its traditional structure, there was a real need for a better solution.
My career has been built on working with students who have fallen through the cracks of mainstream education. These students often struggle to connect with the rigid processes of school, and as a result, they get left behind. Too often, teachers would simply tell them, "If you don't want to be at school, get a job and leave." But the real issue isn’t that they don’t want to be in school—it’s that they aren't being equipped with the skills and support they need to transition into the workforce.
That’s why I’ve developed a range of practical workbooks focused on job readiness, interview preparation, and leadership. I believe that with the right guidance, a solid routine, and the right structure in place, these students can achieve incredible success. The sky's the limit when they have the tools and confidence to pursue their goals.
With over 25 years of experience as a trainer, I’ve helped hundreds of students better understand how to prepare for employment and build lasting careers. My work doesn’t stop once they’ve secured a job—I help them stay employed and grow in their roles. I’ve also assisted students in finding the right educational pathways to match their career goals.
Throughout my career, I’ve built strong relationships with key industry players, including Group Training Organisations (GTOs) and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). These connections are vital for students who are interested in apprenticeships and traineeships. I’m well-versed in the apprenticeship system and the opportunities available for students once they’re enrolled.
